Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai Announces Charitable Giving from 2024

KA’UPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii – The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai held its charitable contribution check presentation on Tuesday afternoon, celebrating the tournament’s contributions for 2024. Since the Mitsubishi Electric Championship moved to Hualalai Golf Course in 1997, the tournament has donated $2.37 million to local community organizations.

A total of $287,500 was split up among the Rotary Club of Kona, Daniel R. Sayre Foundation, Big Island Junior Golf Association, Pua ka Ilima Historical Surf Park and Hualalai Ohana Foundation.

"We are grateful for the wonderful partnerships and the great work each of these organizations do for the Island of Hawaii communities,” said Tournament Manager Kelly Fliear. “It is always great to see the impact these donations have made since we came to the Big Island in 1997.”

Mitsubishi Electric’s commitment to charity continues on PGA TOUR Champions through their golf partnership. Mitsubishi Electric is an Official Marketing Partner of the PGA TOUR as well as the title sponsor of two PGA TOUR Champions events, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai and the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. Through both of their PGA TOUR Champions events, more than $5 million has been donated to local charities.
